I just discovered that untill now ALL of you, see ALL of my pictures ALL of the time with much less contrast than I intented them... Whereas on my own fancy calibrated CRT screen, they look(ed) perfect. Left you see now (hopefully) how Dré as Captain Haddock should look. Below (previous post) you see him in low contrast how he should NOT look. The reason behind this? For years I have calibrated on a more or less regular basis my LaCie screen with Pantone Spider & Optical. Very good software for color calibration. However, if you use the standard procedure (in stead of the "precision" mode) you (can) get a completely exagerated contrast on your screen, which no one else has on his screen... So everybody sees your pictures with a lot less contrast than yourself. Which is disastrous. Especially if you send some portfolio pictures to Photo Editors, Art Directors & the like.
Arrrggghhh. I am gonna drown myself. And then I am gonna get it all fixed.
To tell you how bad it was. Untill 10 minutes ago, I thought the background of the Strobist blog was black, because on my screen it was, well, euh.... black. And now I discover it is grey?! I mean, am I stupid?!? I am afraid dear, that yes, you are.
Voor diegenen die (enkel) geïnteresseerd zijn in mijn Buren project, en niet in al dit onnozel technisch gezever : mijn excuses.

Just added a link at the bottom of this blog to a simple site which helps you to check & adjust the contrast & brightness of your screen. So that everybody can see the pictures on screen (more or less) as I see them on mine.
